THE STORY OF ASPIRE MMA
Aspire MMA is a brand new family owned mixed martial arts academy located in the heart of Mudgee CBD. Featuring over 100sqm of tatami matted area, MMA and boxing gear and heavy bags. Catering to kids, teens and adults of all skill levels in a light-filled and welcoming space.
Aspire MMA is founded by Richy Walsh, UFC veteran, BJJ black belt, former UFC PI MMA Manager and qualified personal trainer.
Richy Walsh’s international experience spans almost two decades which includes 8 UFC fights, a black belt level Jiu-Jitsu UAEJJF competitior, competition boxing, Muay Thai, and wrestling tournaments.
Following Richy’s professional fight career he was based abroad working at the UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai as the MMA Manager.
He has recruited, coached and mentored multiple UFC athletes and cornered over 150 fights worldwide with an over 90%-win rate.
Some major career highlights include competing and winning at UFC 193 in front of a crowd of over 57,000 spectators at Etihad Stadium.
As well as other international UFC fights in Tokyo’s Saitama Super Arena, Los Angeles Staples Arena, and his debut UFC fight in Quebec City’s Colisée Pepsi Arena.
